Meridian 5G X2 internet dome

Short description
The X2 system contains 2 panels with a control router arranged into an inner core to be installed inside a small (~50cm) empty dome. 2 panels (two 5G modems and 8 omnidirectional antennas in total, see data sheet “Panel” specifications page 7 for more info)
This Meridian 5G system combines all 4G & 5G equipment a vessel needs into one compact dome. Addressing the latest innovation made possible by cellular networks, the dome router eliminates the need for coax cables. The has a coverage of around 100km offshore. (Pending of the height of the dome and where the shore-based network antennas are placed, due to the curves of the earth)
The panels are available with connection bonding or load balancing modes, optional LEO integration.

Note: for a 100% good working system, a 360° non-blocked horizontal line of sight is recommended.

Extended description
The standalone dome is identical in performance to the panel version and is built for ships that prefer or require a separate dome installation. There are various options in terms of systems. There is an X2 system available for up to 10 users and an X4 system that is recommended for more than 10 users. Both systems have the same dome size, with the X2 being easy to extend with 2 additional panels. You also have the separate panel systems, for integration in existing domes.
For a full 100% problem free working is recommended a 360° non-blocked horizontal line of sight, so that the panels do work as efficient as possible. Optional SIM extenders are available, so that SIM cards can be conveniently changed below deck. It does not require any additional cables and will use the same ethernet cable as for the user data.

The X2 dome has a diameter of 530 m and is egg shaped with a height of 570 mm. It contains 2 panels that are good for a joint 8 antenna system. Together with the SIM extender that is available in 16, 64 and 256 slot, you are able to fully operate the system below deck.
If it turns out that the system does not have enough capacity, 2 panels can easily be added.

The dome is compatible with 3G, 4G and 5G. SIM card licenses with subscription are directly available from Meridian 5G, own Sim card use is also possible. Note: that the own Sim card subscriptions needs to be suitable for data modems

User interface
The user interface systems gives full access to the system and their performance, any minor problems can their fore be easily solved by the crew. Due to the user interface the system can be fully served and monitored. 24/7 service is available, due to the ability that we can remotely access the system and solve or indicate any problems. If the problem can’t be solved by remotely login into the user interface system, we have worldwide mechanics available to solve the problem onside.
